Sylhet Strikers
The Sylhet Strikers suffered a surprising defeat in their opening match of the tournament. Despite a strong start from their top-order batsmen Najmul Hasan Shanto, Zakir Hasan, and Mohammad Mithun, the Strikers will be looking to maintain their momentum and score big in their upcoming match. However, their bowlers struggled in the previous game and will need to improve if they want to secure a victory.
The Sylhet bowlers struggled to take early wickets and struggled to contain the opposition’s partnerships in their previous game. Key bowlers such as Nazmul Islam, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, and Richard Ngarava will need to step up and control the opposition’s batting line-up. Harry Tector and Ben Cutting are also expected to contribute with their bowling skills. After two consecutive losses, the Strikers will be determined to avoid a third defeat and boost their team’s morale.
Comilla Victorians
The Comilla Victorians had to endure the same fate as the Sylhet Strikers in this year’s BPL. They also ended up losing the first game of the competition. The main reason for this loss was the below-average performance of their middle order. Although their openers Towhid Hridoy and Imrul Keyes provided an excellent start to the innings, the middle order could not develop momentum as necessary. The Comilla outfit will look at Jaker Ali, Roston Chase, and Khushdil Shah to get them quick runs in the middle overs.
The Victorians have an excellent lineup of bowlers, and they have a lineup of players who are both fresh and experienced bowlers. Mustafizur Rahman, Matthew Forde, and Tanvir Islam are the bowlers expected to get vital breakthroughs. The Comilla team will rely on these bowlers to break partnerships during their fielding effort. A lot is expected from the batter Roston Chase to do severe damage in middle overs. The overseas all-rounders such as Moeen Ali, Rahkeem Cornwall, and Johnson Charles are also expected to contribute heavily to the team cause.
